Company lineage follows that of 47th Infantry from 1917 through 1947 activation at Fort Dix, NJ
Inactivated 1 December at Fort Carson, CO. relieved from assignment to 9th Infantry Division, and redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Battle Group, 47th Infantry
Redesignated 1 February 1966 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Battalion, 47th Infantry, and assigned to 9th Infantry Division; activated at Fort Riley, KS
Inactivated 1 August 1969 at Fort Riley, KS
