New Reunion Committee Chairman!
The Reunion Committee, chaired by Russ Vibberts, is pleased to announce that Hugh Townley, a resident of Monroe, Georgia, and a long-time supporter of the Regiment, has been warmly accepted and approved to be the next Reunion Committee Chairman. Hugh will be officially "installed" at the Regimental Meeting held on the last day of the Reunion in April, and will be undergoing a thorough briefing and intense training program overwatched by Russ! With his proximity to Fort Benning, Hugh will be a great asset to the Reunion Committee as it continues its close coordination with and support of our 2nd Battalion 47th Infantry's mission of training future Warriors for our Nation. We invite all friends of Hugh to thank him for volunteering for this important function, as he continues his enduring commitment to serving America and its Veterans.

Welcome to the website of the 47th Infantry Regiment!
This website is dedicated to preserving and honoring the service of all U.S. Army veterans who served in this proud Regiment, which traces its lineage all the way back to World War I, to World War II, continuing through the Vietnam War, to today’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. We currently have hundreds of veterans listed on various files for the different battalions of the Regiment, and will be adding a Guest Book feature so that visitors to this site can locate other veterans. You can also contact one of the battalion’s representatives via the “Browse Members” buttons to link to his email address.
We will be posting new information here as it becomes available, and encourage all who visit here to submit any proposed changes, recommendations or comments to the people listed on the Organizational Structure listed on the “Reunion Committee” tab. We will seriously consider all suggestions and comments designed to make improvements. It is our intention to make this website functional, dynamic, and helpful to all who visit here.
Make plans now to attend the next biannual Reunion of the 47th Infantry Regiment scheduled for 20 - 24 April 2016, at Columbus, Georgia, and Ft. Benning, Georgia.
